Bombers for Academic Excellence

Bombers for Academic Excellence (BAE) is a community organization that strives to encourage students in Rensselaer to excel in intellectual growth, and to help foster the development of a culture among our youth which strongly values academic achievement. We do this by raising funds to support academic achievement awards, student scholarships and classroom grants.  Our board is made up of teachers, administrators, community stakeholders and students. We believe that providing students and teachers with opportunities that go beyond the classroom aimed at increasing student exposure to experiences and ideas, that are either novel or presented in greater depth, is an effective way to nurture student achievement and confidence and expand their abilities and motivation developing students who seek and appreciate learning and are excited about growing more in their chosen areas of interest.  BAE uses funds from donors like you to provide grants to individual students and teachers for these types of opportunities.  Grants BAE has previously funded include:

• Purdue GERI Summer Camps
• Travel to Virginia to job shadow an animal prosthetics designer
• Music teacher classroom request for musical instruments from the Caribbean 
• Alabama Space Camp
• Field trip to Elliott Hall of Music to see Bollywood
• University of Evansville’s Summer Data Science Academy
• Congress of Future Medical Leaders, in Boston, Massachusetts
• Class trip to see Frank Lloyd Wright and Earnest Hemingway sites
• Actuarial Science Summer Camp
