Marion J Eller/Newton County Historical Society Scholarship

Established in 2021. Scholarship awarded to one North Newton and one South Newton High School graduate who has applied to an Indiana secondary institute of education at a college, university, or vocational institution.

Eligible students must:

• be a graduating senior of either North Newton or South Newton High School
• be applying to an Indiana secondary institute of education at a college, university, or vocational institution
• present a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, employer, pastor, or mentor
• write two additional short essay questions on
  1) Do you feel it is important to preserve Newton County history? Please explain why or why not and
  2) Describe a Newton County historical place or thing, person, or ancestor that has influenced your college and/or career plans and goals.
